What to expect from Hotels with a Waterparks in Orlando
The resorts have started to build these waterparks, because a lot of guests while they want to visit Disney World and Universal Studios they do not want to spend all day at the theme parks. The parents want some down time to sit by the pool and relax. Some hotel waters parks are pretty extravagant for example the Holiday Inn Waterpark and Suites used to be the Nickelodeon Hotel and Waterpark and the entire resort is built around a huge water park with 7 water slides. CoCo Key Resort has both and indoor and an outdoor waterpark, and then there is the Grove that has waterslides, lazy river, and even a virtual realty surfing area.
There are a couple of draw backs to staying at an Orlando resort with water parks, some guests vacation is centered around the hotel. Meaning they are not going to the theme parks during the daytime or evening. This means, during high travel times such as Spring Break and Summer the hotel is always busy and loud. In addition to many guests not leaving the property, these hotels also allow non-hotel guests to enjoy waterparks themselves by just purchasing day passes. This causes the hotels to be even busier.

Type of Orlando Resorts with Water Parks
When choosing an Orlando resort with waterparks you have many choices. You can choose an Orlando hotel, a condo style resort or a vacation home community. The vacation home and condo style resort waterparks are usually much more elaborate and bigger waterparks, simply because they have much more room to build out these parks as compared to the hotels. Most Orlando hotels have added their water parks years after the hotel was built, so they are limited to a smaller available space. This is evident in the Red Lion Lake Buena Vista Hotel and Waterpark. This is a great little waterpark for smaller kids but older children (teenagers) will get bored really quickly.

Resort Fees at Waterpark Resorts in Orlando
Most Orlando hotels and resorts charge guests daily resort fees. These are usually paid by the guess at check-in. These fees can range from $10 a night up to $50 a night. If you are staying at a water park resort, then you are going to pay anywhere between $25 and $50 a day. The resort fee helps cover the additional insurance and staff the properties need to have to adequately need to operate. This is not bad when you consider if you were to buy a day pass at one of these resorts to use their water park you are typically going to pay anywhere between $20 and $40 per person.
When you book with Orlando Vacation Hotels, we always tell you up front what the resort fee is. Some online agencies do not tell you this and then the guests is surprised when they go to check-in…nobody likes hidden fees. Often, times we include the resort fee in the price and when we do this we let you know as well. By doing this our guests do not have to pay for the resort fee when they check-in and most hotels give our guests a discount on the resort fee when we charge it upfront.
