If you want a hotel in Orlando near Disney World you have three different areas to choose from; each has a distinct flavor and advantages that make it worth considering:
Hotels in the Kissimmee
Main gate entrance is the one south of Walt Disney World on HWY 192, this was an extremely popular location for hotels. Since this is the oldest entrance, many of the hotels located here are older as well. Thankfully, many of the national chains have been moving back into this area and are tearing down or totally renovating hotels in the Kissimmee area.
Hotels in the Lake Buena Vista
Located on the North side of Walt Disney World is the latest to be developed. The Lake Buena Vista area hotels are much newer than many of the hotels on HWY 192—and the nightly rates are a little higher. You can expect to find great shopping and dining in the Lake Buena Vista area.
Hotels Inside Disney World
The hotels inside Disney World offer you and your family easy access to the Disney theme parks since most offer free shuttle service every thirty minutes. You will find that the hotels near Disney World tend to be a little less expensive than the hotels near Universal Studios. There are just so many more hotels in the Disney area the competition brings down the nightly rates.
To get the cheapest nightly rates plan your stays during the week on a Sunday through Thursday on the weekends the hotels start to really fill up and the rates reflect the higher demand. Also try to visit during non-peak travel times as well. If kids are out of school this is going to be peak travel time and this is when you are going to spend the most money for your hotel stay. If at all possible, if you can visit during the week and during non-peak seasons you will not only save money on your lodging but you will also experience much smaller crowds at Disney World.

Nearly all the Orlando hotels charge a nightly resort fee. This became popular seven or 8 years ago and now every property is charging it and they almost never waive it.
The fees usually cover free shuttle service to Disney World, pool towels, wifi and sometimes parking. Here at Orlando Vacation Hotels we always let our guest know prior to booking what the nightly resort fee is with the hotel. Often times we charge the resort fee when you make the hotel booking with us. By us charging the resort fee, it cuts down the hotel check-in process by up to 68% and for this efficiency the hotels offer us an even better nightly rate which we pass along to you.
