Autism Friendly Which one is better Resort, Vacation Home, or Hotel
This is a great question, and the answer is all three type of lodging have their pros and cons when it comes which one is more autism friendly.
Orlando Hotels
The pros are there are many to choose from ranging in price from value to luxury and everything in between. If you are staying for just a few days, a simple hotel room might be just the thing you need. They are typically smaller than full size Orlando resorts so if you do want to go to get to your room quickly Orlando hotels will provide this opportunity to do this.
The cons are there are a lot more people in a smaller space than compared to a resort or vacation home. It is also a little harder to stick to a schedule and a routine because the rooms are typically a little smaller. In addition, the check-in process might take a bit longer.
Orlando Resorts
These resorts such as: Liki Tiki, Mystic Dunes or Fantasy World Resort offer condominium style lodging with all the extra amenities of a 4 and 5 star hotel. These resorts offer waterparks, great pool areas, extra amenities such as: putt-putt golf, games rooms, multiple site restaurants, and so much more. This type of lodging is great from families traveling with family members which are on the spectrum because they offer so much and the units are 2,3 and 4 bedrooms with fully equipped kitchens. This makes it much easier to stick to a daily routine especially when you are in your unit.
The negative about these resorts is that they are massive in terms of overall size. Your room might be a 5-to-10-minute walk from the pool area which can cause a problem. In addition, the pool areas are the major draw to this type of lodging so it is always busy and loud.
Vacation Homes
Our vacation homes offer you the most privacy and most of our vacation homes have their own private pool which makes this a great option. It is typically more quite and more relaxing plus we have homes which range in size from a 3 bedroom to 14 bedrooms. We are sure to find one which is perfect for you and your family. The negative is the vacation homes might not be the safest option. Almost all our vacation homes have pools so this can be problematic with children who have autism. In addition, the locks on the doors are more in line with the locks you find in homes so this makes it easier for autistic children to unlock the door and walk out the front door.
