Disney Hotel Options for your Disney Vacation

If you are coming to Walt Disney World, you have many options of where you and your family can stay for your Disney Vacation. The main options are staying at a Disney Hotel owned by Disney on their resort property, which offers convenience but a lot less value for your dollar, or staying off the Disney property at a non Disney Hotel where prices are much more competitive. They only catch here is making sure that you book with a reputable company that takes good care of their hotel.

If you are considering staying off of the Disney property, one place where vacationers look into staying at is close to the Orlando International Airport. Some of the draw backs of staying so close to the airport is that you will be at least 30 minutes away from Disney, and if you plan on visiting the theme parks a few times, the amount of time that you will be driving on your vacation can increase to uncomfortable levels quite quickly. Now, if your decided to stay at a hotel close to Disney, you could use their complimentary shuttle service that will take your family to and from the Disney Parks which is a very nice added benefit.

Most of the hotels by Disney have numerous restaurants within walking distance and some even have their own restaurant on site so you could get away with not needing a rental car altogether. Universal Studios Orlando – Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit Has Launched

Well, it’s finally here. Universal Studios has opened its much anticipated roller coaster, Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, Universal Studios Orlando is more geared for the teenage market and that has never been more evident than with Universal’s latest attraction which zips through turns and twists at about a cool 65 M.P.H. while riders jam out to their favorite tunes. The best way that I can describe it to you is that it’s an ipod on steriods in the middle of a wind storm. The ride runs about a minute and a half and wait times have been up to two hours.

Line get pretty long for the ride but that has not stopped people jumping back in line once the ride finishes. The Manta at SeaWorld gets the best reviews for Orlando area roller coasters with Universal’s Hulk coming in second. Only time, will tell if Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit will become the fan favorite roller coaster in Orlando.

The ride does have a couple of restrictions for passengers. You must be at least 51 inches tall but not taller than 79 inches. You are also strongly encouraged to leave loose belongings such as a camera, camcorder, hat, visor, or call phone with a friend or family member who can hold them for you until the ride is finished.

Th unique part about the coaster is that each passenger can select their own music to listen while riding and at the same time, not hear their neighbors music at all. It is truly a unique experience.

Orlando Hotel Prices Continue to Decline

The hard hit Orlando Hotel Market has seen a consistent decrease in the amount of occupants that are booking hotel rooms in the latest reports. The most recent statistic has occupancy rates falling about 6% when compared to the same time last year.

In an effort to combat the decrease in occupancy, Orlando hotels have extended greater discounts to draw in more customers. You can now rent a room at about 12% less than what that room cost this time last year. Average room rates 1 year ago were $80.

Right now you can book at quality hotels at rock bottom prices. For example, you can book at the Radisson WorldGate in Orlando for only $49 a night. The Radisson is a fantastic resort that is located just minutes from the Disney Parks.

Another option is the Hawthorn Suites Resort which is just $57 for a deluxe suite. Hawthorn suites twice as big as a normal hotel room, comes with breakfast buffet for your whole family, and is only 5 minutes from Disney.

With prices this good, there has never been a better time to book your Orlando Vacation.
