5 Booking Tips for Orlando Hotels – Part 2 of 2

3. Watch for any Hidden Fees - Make sure that you ask the hotel sales representative if there are any additional costs for your stay. One additional fee that may not be included in the quote is state sales tax. All hotel owners must pay state tax. So whenever you get your quote, make sure that the taxes are included in the price. This way it will be easier for you to compare hotel prices.

4. Book Ahead – It really pays to book Orlando Hotels in advance either by phone or online. This allows you to lock in the best rate for your vacation. By booking ahead, you can really save. Some travelers will show just show up at the hotel and hope for the best rate. Not only will their rates be higher but they may be without a room. During “high season”, hotels can sell out and of course they are priced at a premium as well. By calling a reservation specialist in advance, the reservationist can let you know the best rates for the time that you are traveling, offer you options for your stay, and let you know about specials that are being run at the time of your visit.

5. Travel as a Group – By traveling as a group, travel costs can significantly be reduced for each individual. Also, hotels do have fire codes that they must observe so once again it is best to call your reservation specialist in advance so that can help you select the best Orlando hotel for your group. Depending on the size of your group, some hotels will be more suited to accommodating your party.

5 Booking Tips for Orlando Hotels – Part 1 of 2

Florida is many travelers’ home away from home. The vacation state pulls in its lion’s share of visitors each year and because of the need to accommodate everyone, hotel options abound. Orlando, in particular, is flooded with hotel options. So, how do you determine where to stay?

1. Pictures Please – Cheap mom and pop hotels are available but these facilities often leave little to be desired. Disney was made in the 1970s and many of the area hotels were made at the same time to cash in on the vacationers that Disney was bringing to the Orlando area. So make sure you view pictures of the hotel online. If the hotel does not have a website with current photos, then, buyer beware!

2. Look for Corporate Hotels – When looking for Orlando Hotels, go with a name that you can trust like the Radisson Worldgate Orlando or Best Western Disney. By going with a large company, you receive not only better more responsive customer service but also much nicer facilities. The larger hotel corporations do what the smaller lesser known hotels cannot afford to do. They renovate the hotel when necessary. The Radisson Worldgate Orlando recently received a twenty three million dollar face lift.

3. Proximity to Theme Parks – I cannot understate the importance of the hotels proximity to the attractions that you plan on attending. Traffic can be very dense in the tourist districts of the Orlando area so make sure that you get the best hotel with the shortest drive or look for a hotel that offers shuttle service to the parks that you want to attend. Also, check their schedule for the shuttle in order to plan when you will be arriving and leaving the park.
