Saving for an Orlando Vacation

Trying to save up the money for an Orlando vacation? At first this can seem like a daunting task. This is especially true for larger families, as transportation expenses are rising, making it to Florida can oftentimes be the most expensive part. The positive news is that an Orlando vacation is not as costly as most people believe. Sure if you stay right inside Disney World it is going to become more expensive, but if you pick a hotels or home right outside the park you can save a bundle.

The first step I suggest is figuring out the total amount of the trip. Keep in mind that this can vary depending upon when you decide to travel and how far in advance you book the reservation. Airfares to Orlando are usually much less costly when booked in advance. The other expenses to consider are the hotel cost and ticket costs, plus whatever you plan on spending while on the trip. Add these numbers together to end up with a realistic figure of how much to save. Many times this number might be less than you thought.

Generally when saving I’ve found it easiest to simply set aside money from each of my paychecks. This is true no matter what I am saving my money to purchase. Generally, I take 10 percent of my check and stash it away. Depending on a number of factors, for a dual income family where each adult makes a $52,000 salary, this works out to about $400 every two weeks. If this is all that is done a family could easily have a enough for an Orlando vacation in a few months.

However, since this article is about saving money, I wanted to make certain to provide other suggestions to speed up the process for those who rather take a vacation sooner. During the same time you are saving, cut back on a few non-essential expenses. Go out to dinner a little less often. Buy generic brands at the supermarket rather than brand names. These two little pieces of advice can easily add an extra few hundred dollars a month to your savings.

Or perhaps you are lucky enough to already have the money set aside. In the case I would simply look for the best bargain on the internet. This site and many others offer excellent deals. Unique to Orlando Vacation Hotels is the fact that only a $50 deposit is required at the time of booking a reservation, rather than the full amount. Giving those people who need the time to save a chance to do just that.
