Getting a Great Hotel near Disney World at a great Price this Summer

There is good news if you are planning a vacation to Disney World this summer…prices are coming down at hotels near Disney World. As I was driving into work this morning I thought I would write about how to get the best hotel deal in Orlando.

1. Stay at a non Disney owned hotel- Many guests are flocking to hotels on the Disney World property to save money on gas. They feel that if they stay on the Disney World property they will be able to use the Disney transportation services to come and go from all the parks…hence saving money on gas. The off-site or non-Disney owned hotels offer free shuttle service and most of them offer more amenities than the Disney owned hotels at a fraction of the cost. One of my favorite hotels is the Holiday Inn Maingate East near Disney World which is Brand new, they offer a completely renovated hotel at around $65 a night.

2. Look at Vacation homes or town homes- One the best ways to save money on your lodging in Orlando is to find another family to come with you and you both rent a vacation home or town home. Just this morning I was helping out a gentleman from Atlanta who is coming with another family and they had 9 people in their party. At first he wanted to only look at hotels then I showed him the money he could save at a town home in Terra Verde …the savings came to over $150 for a 4 night stay. There are more rental properties in Orlando than there are hotel rooms and it is this competition that his bringing down the prices of these properties. If you have a large party of if you are traveling with friends you might want to just look at the cost savings a vacation home or town home will offer you. Another thing to keep in mind when renting a vacation home they all come complete with fully functional kitchens  so there is another way to save money by eating a few meals in.

3. Book a few weeks out- Travelers have been trained that if they book a vacation at the last minute they will receive the best deals. Well… everybody it seems is now booking last minutes so hotels are offer better deals if you book early. My suggestion is to book a reservation out as far as possible, and then check the prices at the same hotels for your dates periodically, if the prices go down call the hotel and ask them to adjust your rate to the new price.

I hope these tips help you when you are planning a vacation to Disney World. We work hard all year to provide you, the customer, with the best deals possible.
